Request a basement inspection
If water is coming in now or a wall is moving, call. For a crack you have been watching or an aging sump, send a request and a local company will call you back.
Before you call
Helpful details to have ready:
- Your address, so the request goes to a company that serves your community
- Wall type: block, poured concrete or older masonry
- Where water shows up: floor edge, a crack, a window well, or up through the floor
- Any horizontal cracks or bowing, and roughly how long you've noticed it
- Whether your sump discharges outside or into a floor drain
Water near the furnace, water heater or outlets? Stay out of standing water if anything electrical could be wet, and shut off basement power at the panel only if you can reach it from a dry spot.
